Genre: Trip-Hop, Electronica, Chill-Out
MySpace: PORTISHEADALBUM3
My opinion & thought: This live recording sound is very different from any of Portishead previous & current album, it's going for more band sounds & less electronica feel. I love the mood that they produced on every tracks from this live album.
Stands out track(s): Glory Box, All Mine, Sour Times, Over, Only You
Portishead (IPA: [pɔːtɪsˈhɛd]) is an English musical group from Bristol. The band is named after the nearby town of the same name, 13 km (8 mi) west of Bristol. The band was formed in Bristol in 1991, by Geoff Barrow, Beth Gibbons and Adrian Utley. Previously, Barrow had been working as a tape operator (including work withMassive Attack and Tricky), Gibbons was singing in pubs, and Utley had played jazz guitar for Big John Patton and The Jazz Messengers. The trio created the short film To Kill a Dead Man, which was heavily inspired by espionage films, and its accompanying soundtrack persuaded Go! Beat Records to sign the band.
Roseland NYC Live (also referred to as PNYC) is a live album by Portishead with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. It was released in 1998 by Go! Discs/London. APAL format video was released the same year, with a DVD version following four years later.
