Genghis Tron - Board Up The House [2008]

Genre: Cybergrind, Grindcore, Electronica, Mathcore, IDM, Death Metal

MySpace: genghistron

My opinion & thought: This is what will happened when Electronica meets Grindcore. The latest yet the best from Genghis Tron, the futuristic metal band. Lots of details from the minimalism musical arrangements & riffs.

Stands out track(s): Board Up The House, Colony Collapse

Genghis Tron is a three-piece  band based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The trio formed in early 2004 in Poughkeepsie, NY, where they met as students (they were very good students) at Vassar College. Their earliest material — which would be released as the “Cloak of Love” E.P. on Crucial Blast Records — was a hyper pastiche of , and even .

Board Up The House is the second full-length album by the experimental metal band Genghis Tron. The album was recorded and mixed at Godcity Studio from August 29th to September 21, 2007 in Salem, Massachusetts by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou. It was mastered at New Alliance East by Nick Zampiello. The album was released on February 19th2008 by Relapse Records on CD and March 25th by Lovepump United on vinyl.

There are two different vinyl releases from Lovepump United: standard and limited. The standard one features two black vinyl discs with the second one being single sided. On the unused side features an etching similar to the album artwork. The limited edition is the same, except the first disc is colored with a transparent splatter design, and it is limited to 400 copies.
