Bill Evans - Alone [1969]

Genre: Jazz, Bebop

MySpace: billevanstrio

My opinion & thought: In a lonely raining night, this is the best album to play. Listening to Bill Evans playing his piano with raindrops sound at the background is just a great moment to be.

Stands out track(s): Here's That Rainy Day

William John Evans (better known as Bill Evans) (August 161929 – September 151980) was one of the most famous and influential American jazz pianists of the 20th century. His use of impressionist harmony, his inventive interpretation of traditional jazz repertoire, and his trademark rhythmically independent, "singing" melodic lines influenced a generation of pianists, including Herbie HancockChick CoreaDenny Zeitlin and Keith Jarrett, as well as as guitarists Lenny Breau and Pat Metheny. The music of Bill Evans continues to inspire younger pianists like Fred HerschRay ReachBill CharlapDavid ThompsonBrad MehldauGeoffrey Keezer,Lyle Mays and Eliane Elias. Evans is an inductee of the Down Beat Jazz Hall of Fame.

Jazz pianist Bill Evans's first released solo record almost glows with an absence of self-consciousness and a pure connection between Evans and his music. Recorded at Webster Hall, New York, between September & October 1968. Includes liner notes by Phil Bailey and Bill Evans.
