My opinion & thought: A rare good Cantonese Rap Metal band that release their album with major record company in Asia. A new sound for the Chinese youngster in South-East Asia.

Mumster, a young rap metal/hip hop band from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Formed in year 2000 with music influences from Hong Kong rap duo "Soft Hard" and hip-hop rapcore band "Lazy Mutha Fucka (LMF)". Mumster is the first band that signed a record deal with major record label (Warner) and release their self-titled debut album "Mumster" at Hong Kong in May, 2004. The band members were MC Yan on vocals, Yew on vocals, Onnz on guitars, Bryan on bass, Terry on drums and DJ Kidd on sampling & programing

Due to the record label's contract issues, Mumster was dismissed in 2005 and formed a new band called "Dropout" with the same members line-up.

Dropout is formed in mid of year 2005. From the members of Mumster, including Yew on vocal, Onnz on guitar, Bryan on bass, Terry on drums and Rainf on sampling & programing. After reconsidering the issue of contract, band manager, band performance, the decisions of the band members and other factors, Dropout, formerly has decided to re-unite, be them self and continue to play their own music freely! 

Dropout means abandoned or getaway, it means indie rock bands are the abandoned group, therefore Dropout wanted to getaway from this uneasy blame! 

Dropout’s style will be including the element such as hardcore, electronical, dark and gothic. Because Dropout’s member music inflence are different, such as : Machine Head, Spineshank, Pantera, Slipknot, DJ Shadow, DJ Krush, Aphex Twin, Boards Of Canada etc. So they will add in their own favourite music element into Dropout. Their music style is not only inclined to heavy metal, but also focus on the composing of melody, which allows them to try out more varieties of music. The band have been crossover project with a clothing label, for printing the band own design T-shirt!
